The Truth About Quantum Leaps: Why Manifestation Alone Won’t Build Your Wellness Business

Table of Contents

This is a continuation of the Yes Frequency series. Previous episodes covered Yes Frequency Marketing, Yes Frequency Selling, and Yes Frequency Delivering. This episode focuses on Yes Frequency for you as an entrepreneur—the badass CEO of your business.

It’s about the truth about quantum leaps. If you’re looking to quantum leap in your business in 2026—even though we’re shifting into second quarter now, it’s still early in the year where so much can happen and change—even if first quarter didn’t go the way you hoped, there is still plenty of time (trust me, been there) for a quantum leap this year.

When we talk about making big leaps—not just helping more people in a way that has you overworking with crazy schedules, but making bigger impact, having more profitable take-home revenue (whatever that means to you), or really living your purpose, fulfilling your purpose (your mission, your goal), or a little bit of both—there is no shame in that.

That’s what we’re talking about today.

Here’s the truth (going to say this, then break it down): Belief in energetics exists. Belief in frequency. Belief in things we cannot touch—like koshas (layers of yoga), chakras, energetics, feelings, vibrations, intuition—all of that.

Love for vision boards (mostly Pinterest boards now, sometimes using AI to help). The Secret. Belief in energy and expansion. The power of deciding something’s possible before you have proof.

But here’s what needs to be said: Manifestation alone will not provide that quantum leap. Manifestation alone will not build your business.

Understanding exists from knowing what it feels like to be sitting in a room journaling. Remembering watching The Secret. Maybe reading one of Tony Robbins’ first books (dare to say his name?). Deepak Chopra’s Quantum Healing way back in the day when starting the business, bringing The Secret and that work into business operations.

Remembering just starting out, feeling like $20K months was the gold standard—everything in the world would be okay if hitting $20K months—while at $2-4K revenue months. This was years ago, maybe 8-9 years ago. Now doing well beyond that.

But remembering: sitting and feeling that in body (which is why it’s so important, why Manifest and Move exists), could feel that in body, but then when going down to sit at desk and do the work to bring in those $20K months—would either just get back into same old pattern of what was being done or would kind of stare at the screen thinking: Okay, well, what do I do? How do I make this quantum leap happen?

There was a huge gap, even though belief was full. That’s what we’re talking about today.

This is seen all the time with practitioners—especially those more on the energetics and spiritual side, or even if not doing that work so much but believing in it personally. Maybe experiencing beautiful moments of expansion—maybe on retreats, maybe in coaching programs, maybe 11 PM after kids finally asleep, scrolling, seeing someone on Instagram who inspires, feeling that, starting to think and consider: Wait, could that be me?

That spark, that moment—it’s real, it matters.

But you might probably have experienced what happened next: Monday comes and a reel didn’t get views, or a workshop didn’t get the signups wanted, or a DM sent felt awkward, or a program isn’t filling the way desired.

For a lot of practitioners, instead of saying “Okay, what can I adjust? What can I refine?”—a spiral starts.

There’s a lot of taking it personally as a person, devaluing yourself, questioning your worth. We’re very much in a shame society. Getting shamed all the time. (This is a whole other topic for another podcast conversation.)

Working with one client who helps plus-size individuals just start moving—there’s so much shaming. When finishing certification to sit for boards, conversations emerged about how much shaming exists in health and wellness industry, in Western medicine toward people who are plus-size (even though they may be completely healthy)—how they’re treated in airplanes, how they’re treated in doctor’s offices.

People start hearing stories of how individuals, when they were larger size and now they’re smaller, are treated completely differently.

There’s shame everywhere. Shame happened when diagnosed with cancer: “Oh, epigenetics—you just need to dial down on your lifestyle”—like causing this personally. (Not saying we remove all responsibility—of course there are things to change and evolve.)

There’s parenting shaming. Shaming about kids. One flight memory: Kaylee was 9 months old, flying solo to Florida (usual family visit location), got caught in a storm of events where first flight was delayed, finally made connection during already-long 8-hour layover of 3 hours, then next plane delayed another 2 hours—now on 5-hour layover with 9-month baby going into bedtime.

Second flight (about 2 hours): she had a meltdown the whole entire flight—one of those kids crying the whole flight. Could feel the shame from people: She’s just a terrible parent, she’s not giving that baby enough attention, that baby [whatever judgment].

Or regarding daughter (very sensitive): iPad time. If setting rules (negotiable), starting (for better or worse) to give her a phone (old phone, very limited capabilities). If she brought that to a restaurant where boundaries were decided ahead of time with her (yes, be with phone during some of meal, but some meals not with phone—playing Uno Corn or having conversations)—but if people didn’t know that was bargaining ahead of time with boundaries and rules decided beforehand, seeing her with phone during meal or before food came (not allowed during meal, but before food arrived), they might have judgments and shame about that.

We feel this unconscious shame when growing businesses. Shame of maybe a colleague’s judgment, shame of not filling workshops, shame of not being the entrepreneur desired.

And then we take this very personally. All of this takes us out of our Yes Frequency energy. It takes us out of our belief—that really blocks the quantum leap.

Many wellness entrepreneurs get stuck in shame spirals that block quantum leap momentum—comparing themselves to others, personalizing metrics, internalizing criticism. Learning to separate data from identity is what allows consistent forward movement even when results feel slow.

The Real Issue: Confusing a Moment of Belief With the Work of Becoming

Here’s what’s actually happening: You’re confusing a moment of belief with the work of becoming.

They’re very different things. Believing in your goal versus believing in the actual small, minute, really hard, sometimes challenging steps of the work of becoming.

The moment of belief is the spark that starts your journey toward a certain goal. But the work of becoming—that’s the fire.

You can’t build a business alone with just the spark. We need the fire.

The Reframe: Quantum Leap Is Not a Moment—It’s Momentum

Here’s the reframe to offer today: Quantum leap—it’s not a moment, it’s a momentum.

It’s not the one big dramatic decision that changes everything (although it could—the decision can be the spark that sets you down the path of igniting a fire).

It’s a series of small, sometimes boring, most of the time uncomfortable action steps and moves you make after that decision.

And sometimes the belief isn’t there during all of that. Or we need resets in the belief again—why doing Manifest and Move—so we can stay connected to our goals, our intentions, our energetics.

Part of that path is whether you choose to stay going forward through the discomfort, stay the course when it gets hard—that’s what’s called belief backed by movement.

The belief opens the door. The Secret, the manifestation, that Yes energy—opens the door. And then you’re going to walk through that door.

So that belief, that energetics—it kind of envelops you all around. But you still have to do some uncomfortable, hard-at-times action steps to get the quantum leap, to get the result you want.

What Quantum Leaps Actually Look Like (Behind the Scenes)

This is where it gets interesting: quantum leaps and action steps look different for each person and are sometimes different than what people think from the outside.

Someone’s breakthrough looks sudden: She went from $3K months to $15K months overnight.

Or Sharon (one client): literally went from 1,000 followers with a goal to hit 2,000 followers by end of year. Already over 3,000 followers—happened in just two weeks, most of it off just a couple reels.

That can appear overnight. No one saw her working through one complete round of 6 months of refining and tweaking, having hard moments, doubting things, coming back to it, trying again, going for it—and then BAM, it happens.

She posted when no one was watching. She refined her offers and tried her classes. She hosted series that didn’t fill the way she wanted. She sent follow-up emails even though sometimes pushed her into growth edge (but always made sure came back to Yes energy and alignment before sending).

She stayed in the room even though there were times she maybe wanted to stop and quit.

That is what causes the quantum leap. All of that—it’s not an Instagram-worthy highlight reel photograph in a perfect box.

What Becomes Possible When You Pair Belief With Structure

Here’s what becomes possible when you pair belief momentum (spark, manifestation, abundance, The Secret) with some structure:

You stop waiting to feel ready and start building evidence and proof that you’re ready right now.

Every small move creates evidence. That evidence creates confidence. Confidence creates momentum. And momentum—that becomes the leap that becomes visible to everyone.

But in those steps: there’s some falters, there’s some plateaus, there’s some back steps. You’ve got to just rebuild the evidence, rebuild the belief, rebuild the Yes energy and that confidence.

So instead of interpreting a slow reel or a workshop not filled or a program not filled as a sign that something’s wrong with you or that you don’t have what it takes to be an entrepreneur or that maybe you should quit—you start looking at it as data.

Data is just information that you can then use to refine and try again. That’s all it is.

As said in previous podcasts (when attending Maria Wendt’s event last year): It’s just problems to solve. As an entrepreneur, you want to fall in love with solving problems. That’s why entrepreneurship is loved—solving client problems, solving personal problems keeps brains going, keeps engagement with life.

The hard things. When working through them, so much pride for self emerges. So much appreciation and gratitude for everything possessed. Feeling life to its fullest.

Not just repeating same old Groundhog Day every day. Actually engaged with the hardness, the realness, and the sweetness of it all—because every day is not rainbows, daisies, and unicorns for every facet of life (whether parenting, relationships, health). We all go through waves of wins and losses and plateaus.

Just have to keep looking at them as problems to solve—not making them mean something about self-worth. Not starting to abandon vision or goal after the glow or initial excitement wears off.

The Truth Most People Don’t Realize

Here’s the thing most people don’t realize: The practitioners who create what looks like overnight breakthroughs are the ones who didn’t disappear when it got unsexy.

Saying that again: The practitioners who create what looks like overnight breakthroughs are the ones who didn’t disappear when it got unsexy, when it got uncomfortable, when it got hard.

They kept going. They kept refining. They kept showing up.

Again, not from hustle, but from the ability to metabolize, feel discomfort, and then metabolize it. Dig deep, refine belief, refine evidence, and try again.

And then one day they looked up and realized the life they’d been journaling about was actually the life they’re living.

Looking at journals from 6-7 years ago: literally had consistent $20K months written down, schedule written down, how living life with daughter and husband would be.

Can report: some details aren’t quite fully there yet, but would say 75-80% of that is being lived now. And that blows the mind. Really blows the mind.

Taking at least one week off to fully reset (whether vacation with family, conferences, retreats) throughout the whole year—a week a quarter at least.

Going to a conference soon. Just came off spring break. In love with programs and community. Love showing up to business working hours. Yes, sometimes they’re a little tight because still doing a lot of one-to-one calls, but actually love working with one-to-one clients. Love working with group program. Love working from home.

Living this vision set out to create years ago. Yes, it didn’t happen quite as fast as wanted. Definitely experienced a lot of discomfort. But doing it now.

And that’s available to you too. Not someday. Not when you have more followers. Not when you finally feel ready. But right now with your next small, best next step, your smallest.

Ask yourself: What’s one step I can take today toward that goal, which becomes your brave move?

Understanding the relationship between manifestation and action separates practitioners who stay stuck in vision boards from those who build actual businesses. Learning to pair belief with brave moves creates momentum that compounds into quantum leaps visible to everyone.

Implementation Strategies

Strategy 1: Identify the Move You Already Know You Need to Make

Not a list of 50 things—just your next smallest step.

Maybe it’s:

  • The offer you have but haven’t posted about
  • The workshop you’ve been thinking about but haven’t announced
  • Writing that next email to your list
  • Making the next Instagram story
  • Maybe you need to add in an online program or change the structure of your business model or raise your price

Some of those are a little bigger, so you have to break it down to the next best step.

But guarantee: you already know what it is. You’re just hesitant to do it because it makes your stomach do a little nervous flip or it’s uncomfortable.

But that’s the move. And that’s why we have coaching to help you do the move.

So decide what that one thing is this week. Not a whole strategy. Not a perfect launch. Not launching a brand new program and getting it all out and doing all the things. Just the next small brave step.

Strategy 2: Create a “Small Is Sacred” Evidence Log

This one sounds simple, but it’s so powerful.

Every day (now journaling sometimes on paper, sometimes—as long as feeling the shift in body—can also do this in mind because journaling has been done enough times where shift and evidence can be felt without writing it down, so it doesn’t have to take long, don’t have to spend hours journaling—used to spend 5-10 minutes daily to do this until able to feel the shift without writing down)—every day, write down one thing you did to move your business forward.

One thing, even if it felt tiny, and some evidence on why you are the perfect person to teach what you do, how people in your audience are already there wanting to work with you right now.

The people you have in your audience is enough.

Maybe you’re going to post. You can say:

  • I posted a story
  • I sent an email
  • I had a conversation with someone out in public
  • I had a conversation with someone in the DMs
  • I had a consultation
  • I tried a different type of messaging
  • I showed up on video even though it felt awkward

And evidence that people in your audience are there:

  • Maybe you’re getting inquiries
  • Maybe you had someone hit reply to the email
  • Maybe you had someone reach out with a DM
  • Maybe you had a conversation with a complete stranger and they said “Oh my god, I think I might need something like that”
  • You’re starting to feel interest
  • Or maybe (which was huge): Instagram has gone through periods of crickets years ago, so just getting new people to like posts—that was a big deal
  • Or having one person comment a word—big deal

All evidence. All progress markers.

Here’s what happens: Your brain is wired—it’s always looking for proof that this is working. So the evidence log gives the proof. The progress markers show you’re making progress before the revenue or the impact does.

And that gap between your first brave move and the first big result is exactly where most people quit.

You don’t want to quit in the gap.

The Truth About Mindset Work and Action

If you’re thinking that you have to truly get in the right mindset before you take action—mindset work matters. You do want to feel the shift. Yes energy, frequency, energy matters. Don’t want to dismiss that.

But sometimes if taking a brave action or a new action, it’s going to feel uncomfortable.

So you have to have the ability to have space in your body for the belief in your dream and feel and embody that belief—and the ability to feel the discomfort as well.

And sometimes the discomfort is 90% and only that belief is only 10%, but it still works if you do it that way.

But a lot of practitioners wait—especially if they’re very intuitive and very energetics-focused. They want to feel it 100% (that belief, that aligned feeling) 100% of the time.

And so then they quietly work on that in the background. But really they’re just hiding because they’re not taking the brave steps that feel uncomfortable.

And knowing—been there too. Saying this from experience. Definitely not shame. Saying this to encourage you that you’re not alone and to give you an alternative so you’re not just spinning your wheels.

Time was spent waiting to feel more ready, waiting to feel more aligned, waiting for the perfect moment.

But what actually shifted: When just (for example, breaking it down for Instagram)—when just started showing up. Posting something uncomfortable, getting data and feedback. Did it land? Did audience comment? Did people message? Did they comment the word or not? And then not taking it personally and refining, getting coaching on it and trying again.

That action helped gather evidence and build self-trust through the doing, not just the thinking or the manifestation.

Action can be part of your mindset tools—and it can be an underrated one.

What If I Try It and It Doesn’t Work?

If you’re thinking: What if I try it and it doesn’t work?

Here’s the truth: A lot of times it’s not going to work. And you’re not going to know what actually works till you have a bunch of fails to gather the data to know what actually works.

Can’t tell you the amount of comments received on Instagram these days and how much people resonate with it and really love posts. (If you want to follow, go follow Ignite Your Wellness Business. Going through a rebrand, so that name will be changing. If you land there, will direct you to new handle coming soon.)

Some people see that and think it happened overnight, but it was a lot of failures. Even now still—never had a post like Sharon where it brought in thousands of followers or hundreds of followers, or like client Allie who’s now going to surpass follower count. Never had that happen yet, and still work toward it.

So we all have our dreams and our visions. But here’s the thing: didn’t have to go viral. Don’t have a massive email list. But have a multiple six-figure business a year, and helping a lot of people in a way that’s loved helping them, and they’re getting results—and that’s what truly matters.

So the wobble doesn’t mean it’s not working. The wobble is the exact stretch—it’s that gap before everything clicks.

And you will feel a wobble in your Yes energy and your brain might tell you: Okay, this isn’t in alignment. But you have to remind yourself. You have to redirect it and say: No, this is part of the process.

The Hard Truth You Need to Hear

Let’s be straight: Every month you spend waiting to feel more ready is a month of clients who needed you, but they couldn’t find you.

Every month you spend “working on mindset” but not taking these small uncomfortable steps is revenue that could be in your pocket, but it went somewhere else—because people, if they’re really wanting help, they’re going to find it.

And every month you stay overworking—or your kids see you stressed, exhausted, and unavailable—are moments you’re missing or potential opportunities to change generational patterns.

And it’s hard. Oh my goodness. Parenting is tough. In it right now with 10.5-year-old daughter (super strong-willed). Seeing some words that come out of mouth and thinking: Oh my gosh, I just sounded like my mother and I never thought—that was my whole thing. I was going to parent in a whole totally different way.

So it comes up in all these different ways.

Your One Next Step

If this episode hit for you, one thing is requested: one small step that feels uncomfortable. Write it down, and be proud of yourself for doing it.

Not 10 things—just one.

Identify the brave move you’ve been avoiding—the one your gut already knows—and take it this week.

Message and let people know how it goes, because you can do it. And you’ll feel so proud of yourself for doing it, and it’s going to lead to more steps like that, that lead to your quantum leap.

Ready to Pair Manifestation With Brave Moves?

If you want help with this, you can come to monthly Manifest and Move (drop-in virtual class: somatics, embodiment, yoga, and yes, manifestation).

Or of course work one-to-one or in the 100K Online Practice Blueprint.

Quantum leaps aren’t moments—they’re momentum. And momentum is built one brave, uncomfortable move at a time, backed by belief that opens doors you then choose to walk through.

Hi, I'm Dr. Alison McLean, DPT

I believe wellness practitioners deserve to live the freedom they teach.

Not someday. Not after one more certification or one more full caseload. Now. We entered this work to help people heal — and somewhere along the way, we became the most burned out people in the room. Seeing clients back to back, skipping meals, missing family moments, quietly wondering if this is as good as it gets. What they didn't teach us in school is that the business model we inherited was never designed to give us freedom. It was designed to keep us busy. There's a version of your practice that doesn't require your sacrifice as the cost of admission. One where your income isn't capped by your calendar, your clients get your best, and you actually have a life outside the treatment room.

That's the world I'm building — and I'd love to help you build it too.
